I promised Ms. Trudy I would join the movie meme, so here's my list of old movies, in no particular order:
1. Gone With the Wind
2. Mary Poppins
3. The Sound of Music
4. Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head
5. April Love
and so many more I have to dig from my 'childhood archives!' I have already watched 4 more 'classics' on Ms. Trudy's list, so I won't add them here anymore. It's fun remembering.
Come and join! Post your favorite movies new or old, or movies that mean something or nothing to you, movies that were worth your time and money, and movies that weren't worth a cent, but you didn't find out till too late! I know it is Saturday now, but maybe it's not too late?
Happy weekend to you all!

I love your list Cherie! Sorry I didn't stop by before now, we've been having lots of problems with our home computer, arghhh!!!
Thanks for participating and no, it's never too late to join in. That's why I decided to choose Friday, since the weekends are a bit slower for blogging. People can feel free to link up anytime!
Have a blessed weekend. Oh, and I finally did my award post but am having trouble getting the awards on my sidebar. They may have to wait until I have a blog makover, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks!
Oh my my FAV movies...it always depended on my mood. I love all your choices and I might add: Dances With Wolves, Thunderheart, Last of the Mohicans. I love native American movies WITH REAL native Americans in them...just a pet peeve of mine.
Oh I love the Sound of Music! One of my favorites of all time. I love Annie too.
Elle
Great list! You love classics, I see.
I love your list of movies, and the only one I didn't see is April Love..I must check it out some time!
I love those movies also, Cherie. "Gone with the Wind" will always be one of my all-time fav's. I also like some 'meaningless' movies such as "Pretty in Pink", "Ghost" --and "Dirty Dancing"... None of those are 'classics' but are fun to watch.
Hugs,
Betsy
hi Che, love your choices, I actually do not mind seeing them again and again.
At this point, Sound of Music sounds about right. Right now I can not deal with too much horror or suspense or terror. happy movies only.
i,m trying to IGNORE computer problems, hoping if i fid the'd just go away! lol! that's okay ms. trudy. glad you liked my SHORT list, hahah!
hello, diane! love all those on your list, too, and i am fascinated by movies with real Indians myself! oommmm!
i never get tired of it, elle! and annie, too! yeah!
i find them fascinating, like an almost surreal experience. but i like most other stuff, too. documentaries and such are good, too! and funnies and musicals!
ghost is an all-time favorite, ms. betsy! some 'meaningless' movies can actually be meaningful, hahahah!
sounds like the kind of movie you might like, sir!
I love GONE WITH THE WIND!!!!! It is tied with 2 other movies for my favorites. Titanic, and The Wizard of Oz. All three are classics!
Gone With the Wind is one of my favorite books (I should add that one to my Profile!).
Can you believe I've never seen The Sound of Music?? I must be the only one!
Great List! I love a lot of those movies. My favorite old movie is, It's a Wonderful Life. Such a great movie!
Okay, now I see what you mean -grin!
Good movies, enjoyed them as well.
Getting a blog entry ready to say thanks for the award you gave me. I'm generally slow but get there somehow.
I like all the movies you mentioned. I think Gone With the Wind is my favorite. No matter what happens there is always hope.
Two other favorite movies for me are, Second Hand Lions and Groundhog Day.
Cherie, it took me to finally watch the Sound of Music in 1987 for the first time since it was shown on the Philippine screen. And that was before I left home for Australia. Keep movie..ing! :)
Sounds of Music very lovely show. How about King and I? Mary Poppins is nice too!
unlike my husband who loves old movies, I haven't seen many, aside from the classic The Sound of Music that you mentioned. I guess I am very 2009 LOL
